Costs maybe £20.00 more. Paid the bill, sent to insurer, money in bank in one week. The OPC usually get a local trusted company to replace the screen, then they do the calibration etc. For the sake of £20 more, have the security of having any problems sorted direct the OPC. Have a look on U Tube showing not so straight forward removal and reassembly of the electronics in the overhead cluster
Admiral went the other way... If you didn't use (their) Autoglass they would only contribute £50 towards the total cost.

I'd expect if an OPC did the repair they would just use Autoglass and add a 50-100% mark up

Nope, OPC use local company at least in Swindon. All is shown and detailed on invoice. Main cost as you would expect is OPC's. Total insurance excess of £70 with no impact on NCD

Keep in mind that Autoglass policy is to use OEM glass only if the car is less than 3 years old.

Hi, Also had mine replaced by OPC, asked the inssurance comapany and they agreed. Think it cost me £100. Since a lot of camera and other sensor set-up's required felt more confident OPC would do a better and guaranteed job. Cost was about £1,400

Mine was replaced by Autoglass 2 years ago when car was 6 months old, I’ve had no trouble with any aspect of it.

National Windscreens changed one on my 911 twice now; and very good and complement people! One was at home.

Had the SD windscreen replaced by Autoglass nearly two years ago. They insisted I took the car to one of their main centres (Birmingham) because that's where they had all the equipment for re-calibrating the cameras etc. £70 and no problems. Autoglass do this all day and every day.

I had a Tiguan r line in 2016 which had 2 windscreens within 3 months. The positive was that autoglass did a perfect job both times. Had to go to one of their depots as it had lots of cameras that had to be calibrated. Used a vw windscreen and couldn’t see any evidence it had been changed.

I’d be reluctant to use an opc who swap a windscreen once in a blue moon. Much more trusting of someone who does it day in day out.
