Recently I've been getting my login details not accepted at the first attempt. The site tells me the details are incorrect, which they are not, but accepts them second time around. It happens on the Mac and iPad. I load the details using a password manager, iPassword, as I always have done. AFAIK nothing has changed at my end. I've tried clearing website data, done restarts, etc but the issue remains. Is anyone else getting this?

Are you sure the password manager completes the details properly?

Ensure it fills your username in, doesn’t leave it blank and doesn’t fill your email address in instead.

If your username is filled in correctly, ensure the password used is correct.

I have this issue too - I don't use any password manager, I just enter the details each time. Fails on the first attempt, but on the second screen, I works

Yes seems to bring up a second, different login screen after failing on the first

Me too - manually keyed in user/password always fails on first entry, using an iPad.

No problems here with password manager to auto the User Name and Password. I'm using a Samsung S9 and a Toshiba Windows 10 lap top.

Could it be just an Apple issue?

AFAIK Rob, it's doing what its always done without problems in the past. I'll double check that nothing's changed. The only thing I can think of that may have changed on my devices is OSX and iOS updates. However, it appears others are having the same issue.

Nick I think it is probably an Apple update with iOS and macOS. Other sites also affected on my devices (e.g. doesnt retain cookie preferences on BBC etc.)
