Under the bonnet 400 Horses and 1 err?
Looks like I've had a squatter there must have been a gang of them as the wife's Golf GTI got it last month. The replacement cover for that was £75. Will know what the Porsche cost is tomorrow

Mouse or rat? Set any traps? I've heard of cars being written off when the wiring harness has been attacked.

I'm not sure if you garage the car but if you do and have power sockets in the garage, you could use an ultrasonic pest repeller. I'm not swearing by them but I've not had to replace any chewed components on my cars so would like to think the £6 I invested has seen a return!
Hope you get it sorted.

When I lived in Bavaria many of the neighbours had problems with under-bonnet pests, usually pine martens. My Macan was in a pest-free garage, but I fitted one of these under the bonnet of my VW Golf to deter intruders:
I simply connected it to the battery terminals. It has a 15 second on/off ultrasonic cycle - I can just about hear it but youngsters notice it more hence it might keep teenagers at bay too! There was an extra wire to connect to a ignition-switched power (to turn it off when the engine is running), but I didn't bother with that so mine is on all the time. No adverse effects on battery.
It would be easy to connect such a device to the charging terminals under the Macan's bonnet. If mine was kept outside I would do so.

And I think this is the part you are after: https://www.xportautoparts.com/oem-part ... cwNSZyPTM0
But the parts list suggests that for 2016 models onwards it should be 95B 863 831 C
EDIT: but this looks a bargain: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Pors ... SwJBlayfDw

When we first move to Worcester with young children, my wife found a hole in the towel she took to the gym. We assumed it had somehow got caught in the door of the washing machine when it spun. Until she found a shredded disposable nappy (kept as a spare) in the glove box. That was when we realised that she had a mouse in the car. So we set some traps - spring loaded in the boot and live capture in the back of the car (otherwise the children would have set them off with their fingers/feet) and waited. And waited. It took 6 weeks before the culprit eventually wandered into the live capture trap on the floor in the back. She let it out down the garden and had no further problems. I don't think it damaged anything of any importance as the car worked well until we sold it a few years later.
Industrial strenth rat poison takes a couple of days and is guaranteed to work. A handfull (don't use your hands, clearly ) of pallets on top of the engine tea tray, every time you park up. By the time it stops being eaten, you know that the culprit won't come back. Harsh but fair. I now expect to be chastised for killing verminIan.g wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 8:02 pm When we first move to Worcester with young children, my wife found a hole in the towel she took to the gym. The problem with this is that a few days after it stops being eaten, you will start to notice the smell. Then the flies. I suppose that you might be OK if it hasn't got into the car and is just in the under bonnet area - but you might want to leave the air on recirculate for a while.Nosmo wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 9:44 pmIndustrial strenth rat poison takes a couple of days and is guaranteed to work. They tend to take it to their nest. You are, off course, absolutely right. The smell of cabage and the endless stream of flies. I was asuming the car lived outside.
