^^^ Thanks! I don’t agree with all of his points, but I agree with the conclusion that the T is a fab car! ;)

Cheers,

Got itchy waiting for my Macan S to be delivered - only a few weeks away. So I took a three day rental to cruise round the Black Forest in Germany. This has to be one of my best holiday experiences ever. We lucked out with the perfect weather for a cabrio experience. My impressions, and remember this is only the base model Carrera:
  • The sheer adrenaline as a result of the rear engine and the noise blew me away. I have been in a few cars with better acceleration, but none with this wow factor
  • The handling was impeccable, and uncanny how the PDK anticipates when you want to drive hard or relax
  • Nice to have Android Auto in the PCM - something I will sorely miss on the Macan (plan to do the hack retrofit unless I hear of any bad experiences)
  • It seemed a fail to put the phone to charge in the bay while using Android Auto. For the first time ever my phone overheated. Next time I left it in my pocket and it worked much better (assuming you have enough battery to last)
  • Coming from BMW (and Mini) I found the distorted rear camera view laughable - seems Porsche software skills are so far behind their hardware skills
  • I really liked having the manual selectors for Sport mode, Suspension, Wet drive - pity Macan puts these all behind the haptic screen, but at least the chrono dial will go some way to compensate
Finally I utterly fell in love with the color. When I asked the Porsche rental lady what color it was, the answer came back "blue" ;) So a bit of research pinpointed this to be shark blue. IMO it is stunning with the darker roof of the cabrio. I am not sure if it would not be too much blue with a solid roof. I definitely don't think it would work on a Macan, where I am going with Carmine Red.

Bottom line I will definitely repeat this experience, and as long as money is not free, I would definitely rent rather than buy, and stay with Macan as the daily runner.
