Posting this should it prove useful to anyone.
I had what I took to be a rattle from the passenger dash area and a creak from the suspension, both intermittent, both from new. There was no rhyme or reason as to when they would occur, so I kept the car for a few weeks to gather what info I could for the Porsche Technicians.
Took it into the dealer and both issues turned out to be the steering mechanism 'interacting' with a heat shield and this was quickly resolved.
Although I hadn't thought either issue to be major, the fix made a big difference - so there was probably more feedback into the cabin than I realised.

I have exactly the same problem. In hindsight was this something you could have fixed yourself? Any pictures to show the exact area?

Unfortunately no - I could not see what they had done and did not think to get them to show me. That said, I doubt I would have been confident enough to deal with the heat shield/steering issue.

Just had a closer look inside the engine bay and just below the brake fluid container on the passenger side there is a a metal panel which moved quite easily and could well be the cause of my rattle. I've jammed a lump of tin foil into the space to stop the movement. I'll report back if successful or not.
