Oil change frequency and cold starts when car "on holiday" at OPC

I left my 2019 Macan S at the OPC for 2 software updates, winter to summer wheel swop and on Tuesday. MFD showing oil change due Nov24 or 9k miles, oil was last changed Nov 22. On inspection front discs down to minimum so front discs and brake pads needed but not in stock but obtainable within 3 days. We agree I would leave the car with them until front brakes done.

This am I am rung up by service receptionist to say oil change light come and Macan needs an oil change. I say when I left with them change according to MFD was 9000 miles/ 6 months off what's changed service receptionist out of her depth parroting Macan's are one-year 10K for oil change. I say what's changed as for previous 5 years a condition based change
Eventually speak to technician, he agrees with me the series of cold starts while at garage without engine getting up to temp to clear contaminants could have triggered change. He agrees my suggestion they extend test drive post brakes fit so engine gets up to full temp. if oil light clears, they do not change oil if oil remains on, they do

As I am now going to Leizig by train for PCGB factory visit, I feel I should keep you wating until we meet 7th of May for such info but I think you can guess the answer.

I would have thought by now that Porsche would have recognised that the sudden change in oil change distance to next change would have been sorted by now. It has nothing to do with cold starts at the OPC.

I said when they first rang me that it was been brought about by the software update but they at that stage denied so. However, the senior technican agreed oil change not needed now and we are back to Oct/Nov.

Hotel opposite station, not many yards. Mike A said the group will provide lifts for me on Saturday am and Monday. I think there are now a few late bookings on flights
