This is the condition mine is in. I've been driving around with the fob, unnecessarily, in the car for a year but have now spoken to Vodaphone and my dealership Porsche Pro in order to resolve it so the fobs can go in the cupboard where those of my previous Macan lived.

If the fob needs a new battery then that message will appear under the symbol. As Neil says, the symbol on its own means the car cannot "see" the fob. If the system was correctlly configured you would, by now, have had a phone call from Vodaphone asking if everything is OK.
