Oil warning has just come on for the first time, after 5,000 miles, but my 981 Mobil 1 is a different spec to our 2019 Macan S which uses 0W-20.
Mobil 1 recommended by Porsche.

So I need to buy some. Probably 1ltr locally then get a 5ltr bottle off t'internet.

Can anyone advise where to buy for best price?

Or... like my local indy who uses Shell Helix, do you prefer another brand?

BUT... that will no doubt "invalidate the warranty" as usual.

Thanks all.

That link takes you to a 0-40 oil which is definitely not the right one.

Unless you plan on doing your own oil changes or persuading your OPC to use your oil there is no need to buy 5L. After around 10k miles the engine will stop using oil.

The link is only indicative of value pricing. Mobil's website suggests that 0W-40 is correct for a 981.

You can find the same adverse comments about virtually all online retailers. For every moaner, there are loads of satisfied customers. Perhaps you should stick to Amazon.

Macan has done 28k Miles, 5k in our ownership.

Info abounds about the 3.0 engine using oil and so 5L seems prudent.

Oddly a sticker under the bonnet says 0W-30 but when I phoned the OPC back their system (and the manual) says 0W-20:

I've ordered 0W-20, 1L from Euro for collection tomorrow and have found 5L from Amazon at £56.20 delivered. Cheaper than ML anyway.

Unless you plan on changing or supplying oil yourself, buying 5 litres is not economical as it has a shelf life which reduces once opened.

Yes, it may just need half a litre now, same in another 5 months and then due an oil service in December when they may well supply another litre. I'll hang fire on the 5ltr.
