Alas, the inevitable has happened and the better half has kerbed a wheel. Was hoping it would take more than 2 months but here we are  .

Looking for some advice on how best to give it a touch up...

Its not severe enough for me to get the entire wheel refurbed at this time. If down the line another wheel gets riddled I can get this one done too. So for now I am just looking to tidy it up a bit.

Was thinking:
- give the mark a light filing to smooth it over
- then apply some sort of black touch up? Online suggests possibly nail polish will do the job?

Cheers

Yes, quick touch up. I'd use a standard car gloss black.

It's really odd that Porsche don't sell the wheel touch up paint. I tried to get some Titanium platinum for a couple of tiny stone chips on the wheel and ended up using a close Mercedes match where u can get wheel touch up.

Find a black that's similar and build up thin layers, and then paint on some clear laquer on top (I'm assuming your wheels are glossy)

Go easy on the filing, don’t want to make the damage area greater than already is and us Halfords gloss black ( they also do satin) touch up pen will do it, then finish with some clear coat. It’s not severe, you won’t notice it once done.👍

Yeah, I had black wheels on first S3, and had a stone chip, bought some Audi black standard touch up and worked a treat, you may notice it only cause you know it’s there, others won’t tho…

I have found smooth Hammerite paint a good match for gloss black wheels.

Thanks for the input, I will give it a go!

Gloss black paint + layer of lacquer. Sounds doable.

I'll share a pic of my handiwork once its done.

We have a smart repair unit that does a professional job at a reasonable charge. My son had a satin black wheel on his Cayman done and they did an invisible repair in a similar location to yours, they match the paint whether it's gloss, satin or matt.

After fiddling with this for several attempts below is the 'finished' touch up. Best that I can do. Not quite as glossy as the original finish but unless you crouch down and study it, you can't really tell from walking by.
