I think we are 90% certain we’ll stick with manual, but the plan is to keep both for quite a long time, and maybe never sell the Boxster. So as we get older there might be some merit in having a PDK that is easier to drive.

We’ll try and get our PEC in the next couple of months and try the manual and PDK back to back.

But I should be talking Macan on this forum!

The lower gears are so high in the manual 718 4.0 GTS, that unless the vehicle will have substantial track use, I would go for PDK.

Don’t worry, tons of off-topic chat on here, including all non-Macan Porsche cars! ;)

So a bit of a turn of events, has resulted in me buying a Gen 1 Macan Turbo.

A great price on a one owner car which will be freshly serviced and have 4 new tyres was too good a deal to pass by. It will give me 6-9 months experience of the Macan before we have to lock down the spec on our new GTS order.

Still needs to have PDR completed so not collecting the car for another 10 days, but looking forward to it.

Great choice in the Turbo, the pebble/agate interior was nit the most popular at the time but I do live a bright interior and would have gone for it myself if it had had the black dash and trim.

The 3.6 V6 engine does whatever you want it to do and does so effortlessly.

If it has Air push the low button to give a ride height similar to a GTS.

Enjoy.

I love the exterior/interior colour combo, very similar to my current M6. I’m not a fan of black interiors.

Our Boxster order is pebble/agate and the only reason our Macan order is not the same (at the moment) is we have a dog and thought that in the event he is not in the boot, mohave would be a more durable option than pebble.

Unfortunately no air suspension, but pano roof and Apple CarPlay inc which were my two essentials. Also has ACC that I’ve never had, so we can try that out. Also has 18 way seats, where we have specced 14 way at the moment so will be interesting to see how we find them.

What an excellent idea! Nothing beats driving a Macan while you wait for a new one to be delivered. It certainly allows a smug feeling when everybody's enduring elastic wait times!

Congrats! :) I do like the Gen I.

Hope you don’t suffer too much of a hit over the next 6-9 months. 🤞🏼

Man maths can solve anything

But the Macan is replacing our ‘dog’ car that is less than 2 years old and itself would suffer perhaps £3-£5K depreciation, plus would need at least 2 new tyres so another saving. The Macan will cost more in petrol but man maths ignores such things.
