I had both my Macans delivered to my home ( 35 miles from Swindon OPC) free of charge.
Yes I recall that Steve. Swindon seem to look after you pretty well and I think that the Dick Lovett group as a whole have a good approach to their customer service. But no OPC should be charging for delivery to the dealership, it's a con and should be refused. Do customers at any other retail outlet pay separately for the goods to be delivered?
But there is a cost to get the car from factory to showroom right? So customer will be paying that one way or the other Nick however you couch it.
Don’t they separate it to reduce the BIK ?

In fact if it could be fiddled I’d play £30k for delivery 🤣🤣🤣🤣then it’s a sub £40k car.

I don’t recall seeing delivery as a separate charge but assumed it was included in the list price. I think I payed VED and registration charge.

In May 2017, the OPC's SE drove my SD to my home accompanied by a driver in another car.

On 1 June 2020, the OPC's SM arranged for a specialist company to deliver my GTS to my home in a sealed single vehicle car transporter. Driver in full PPE and the GTS hermetically sealed. This was following Covid lockdown restrictions just being eased.

It was originally scheduled for delivery in the normal way on 24 March, but then the first full lockdown happened on 23 March. So my GTS was stored in the OPC's showroom for the next 9 weeks and not registered until 1 June. They also absorbed the increase in VED that happened in April 2020.

At the same time as delivery, the transporter driver loaded my SD [traded-in] and took it back to the OPC's premises.

Truly great service from the team at OPC Swindon. :)

^^ Interesting comments on delivery here. I’m with Stratstone, and I’ve not tried out any other OPC franchise, and I suspect it could be the norm with them that they charge for it separately.

I’ll try and do some digging, however. It does seem strange that some of them don’t charge for it 🤔

No such thing as a free lunch ——especially not at Porsche so it’s in there somewhere.

I'm with Stratstone (Bolton) and do have a "Delivery" line item on the Invoice, but listed as a £0.00 value.

The list price of the car is the same no matter which OPC you buy it from and includes delivery from the factory to that OPC. You pay the OPC for the car, plus vehicle first registration fee and VED and that’s it. The contract is between the buyer and the OPC and the point of handover is the OPC unless some other arrangement has been agreed. There should be no additional delivery charge by any OPC anywhere in the UK.

Totally agree Nick but it’s being paid for all the same, in this case as part of list. So you are right, if they are charging you again, you will effectively be paying twice.

Ooh that's interesting, thanks, so you're not too far away. Managed to dig out my 2021 GTS order form and even that had the £144 delivery. Think I'll wait for the order to be allocated before picking it up with them. Plus every little helps with the price increase due at the end of spring
