Does anyone find having coloured dials easier to read than the black standard ones ?

Interesting question…
The speedo dial I never look at and is a waste of space as pretty sure everybody uses the digital speed display.
The rev counter I hardly look at either only very rarely and the right hand dial is digital.
So, no I shouldn’t think it makes any difference what colour they are…

I have black (Macan) and crayon (Boxster).

Had assumed black would be less of a strain, in the same way that I find Dark Mode better on my phone - but in reality the two dials are the same to use. And as above the main thing I look at is the digital speed, then revs and speed limit.

I have red dials now, black on the previous Macan, absolutely no difference. And I have PVD in one eye.

I really dont think the dial colours make any diffrence, albeit for some they must make things look nice, an optician may indicate that one colour is better than another in both daylight and dim lighting for a persons eye's.

But the main colours I want to see are the green, amber and red lines on a working live traffic system on my sat nav!! collected car on 4th July and still not working, I really must start complaining in earnest now though.

I originally specced white dials but saw them in a demo car and all the unlit icons made it look 'cluttered' ... not to my liking.

Has anybody else noticed the speedometer as a literal waste of space? The key speed numbers are not marked e.g. 75mph not 70mph etc.
this could be another digital screen like the one on the right, unless there is a legal requirement for an analogue speedo??

It's probably required by the Porsche "history and DNA" like the car shaped ignition key...

I agree about the dials being irrelevant.
I only ever look at the digital speedo ( the analogue one is completely unusable) and the digital screen. I can’t say as I ever look at the other dials. The rev counter is the most prominent but as you drive in auto 99.9% of the time is completely irrelevant because the revs/ gear selection are all controlled for you.

So get which ever dial colour you think looks best, makes absolutely no difference to the bits that matter because they are digital anyway

Given that the right hand “dial” is now digital you can only have two out of the three in a different colour and that looks odd to me so I stick with black - have had white and boxster red previoulslyand saw no difference in visibility.
