Also, the area where the cars are parked at the cruise terminal is very close, so they aren’t driven very far.
Does it have to be far to try the launch control….

+1.

Your car will be fine. I also lived in Southampton for 27 years and never had my car covered in poo.
Snob !

I’d just as happily drive our Ibiza that far as I would the Macan
+1. Back in the day, I drove a Fiat Uno from Weston-Super-Mare to Stirling in Scotland and back, with passengers - no bother. :)

Often drove more than 200 miles in my son’s Corsa. Fantastic little car. Quiet, comfortable and extremely well equipped.

With regard to the Macan, mine lives outside and already has marks in the paint from bird crap. 5 mins can permanently mark your paint

I’d suggest that if you have concerns, look up private parking in the area on the internet and just get a taxi the last few miles. There are websites where people rent out their drives and garages

E.g. www.yourparkingspace.co.uk

Re the running-in point, I’m sure that the last car I drive at the Silverstone PEC had less than 100 miles on the clock. They didn’t seem too concerned with using launch control and running the car ragged. Is the whole running-in point a myth?
Porsche Cayenne GTS, Quarzite Grey) (Nov 21) (Mine :D )
E-Mini (Oct 21) (Hers)
VW ID3 (May 23 local runaround) (Ours)
Porsche Macan GTS, Sapphire Blue, 2018 (sold  )

I spoke to the instructor at the PEC about that because the one I was hacking around in had less that 1000 miles on. The chap apparently used to run engineering teams at Aston Martin so knows his stuff. He said modern engines do not need running in. It certainly felt a lot more responsive than mine having spent most of its short life being ragged.

Most people on the forum think otherwise but I’m more likely to believe someone who does this stuff for a living.
