Had my new S for 5 days, done 200 miles, 60 of which was from OPC to home.
Going on a cruise on 31st July for 10 days from Southampton (234 miles away). Original plan was to go in wife's Captur but unfortunately somebody hit it in a 3 car shunt (2 days ago) while it was stationary so now its been taken away for inspection!
So now have to use Macan, Splitting journey in two, stopping in Stratford Upon Avon then down to Southampton on Sunday.
Reading up on running in the suggestions seem to be;
1) Don't take Revs past 3500rpm in first 1000 miles
2) Don't use Chrono
3) Vary speed
4) Hope the dozy b'tard who parks it at Southampton can drive
5) Take mileage reading when leaving vehicle at Southampton (Paid premium for parking on site at docks)
6) Hope its still in one piece when we rock up on 10th August
7) Take spare key in case they lose the other!
Am I worried, Err Yes.

Is the "find my car working"? In 2019 I watched mine in a car park by Gatwick from Barbados, never moved, it's your "baby" but just another lump of metal to them!

Is there no courtesy car on offer that you could take instead?

Do make sure you have a good protective coat of some kind on the body work, at least a good covering of a good wax at least. The cars are parked on the key open air almost where the ship returns. When I last sailed just before Covid lockdown on my return the car was covered in seagull droppings. 🤨

We have a Corsa hire car but there are mileage restrictions plus its barely big enough for the luggage. The Macan is being ceramic coated on 23rd August so dont really want to load it with wax. Will take some cleaning materials with me so can wash it when we return if necessary. I do spray wax it every time I wash it anyway. I will try to get app working b4 i go but WiFi on ship is a rip off £15 a day!

......and have yet another Macan stationary and aging, what a waste! If it's been ceramic coated a quick visit to the nearest jet wash and a quick RINSE should clear the crap off, seagull or otherwise.

I don’t recall anything in the manual saying no chrono? The guidance I read was not above 4K rpm for the first 1800miles, avoid lots of short journeys, don’t rev too hard etc

So a run to Southampton and back will be just perfect.

Is your Cruise parking self park and keep your keys or handover to an attendant who just can’t wait to see how many revs a Macan can achieve in 300 metres?
