Just had a test drive in a new one of these, but was disappointed with the ride, I did expect a 'firm' ride, but this thing was jiggly and quite hard over the bumps, was in normal mode as well. Superb finish inside, lovely electric seats on both drivers and passengers side, good price as well,However not for me.

Never been a fan of Merc ever since I got in one in a showroom and pulled what I thought was a cubby hole door and half the dash came away.

It was reinforced when via Porsche Assist I had a Merc loaner, uncomfortable, cheap and nasty plastic interior and crap fit and finish.

I’ve had 3 Mercs in a row and never experienced any of those issues.

to be fair, when i test drove my first Macan the electric window buttons fell apart when I tried to wind the windows up. The Macan I bought had such bad pannel gaps it needed to go back to have them sorted. Not a great start. However, at one point I owned a Merc C240 Avantgarde SE and it was the worst built car I ever owned. That was back in their bean-counter/cost cutting stage though, I’m sure they’re better now.

I heard/read that Merc are displeased with the quality of the A class and it'll be discontinued in the near future.

The A class is Mercs best selling car. Can’t see that disappearing anytime soon ;)

Yep, the A Class is a common sight on the roads these days, so they’re clearly selling tons of them.

Did not they announce two weeks ago they were withdrawing from the bottom ranks of the car market and returning to specialise in the top more profitable end and no longer chasing volume

Haven’t heard that. Last I read was that a face lifted model had been spotted in testing.
