All the tax taken from ICE owners will be systematically transferred to EVs, which btw have to reach 70000 miles before they become carbon neutral. Just in time to start with a new set of batteries at £17K a throw ;)
I agree Skyway, but I’m of an age where I will have to buy and run an EV in due course in any event. I embrace the technology and I understand that every petrolhead is going to throw every numpty argument they can think of to justify not changing, but it’s happening, no ifs no but’s…
You’ve seen the kind of drivel that folks put on here to justify their choices and it’s just exacerbated by the EV issue 😂
In all seriousness, hurdles will be got over in terms of current “concerns” and the world will move on I think?

A couple of asides :

I test drove a Volvo C40 Recharge (all Electric, 404 BHP) and the acceleration was phenomenal (made me almost laugh out loud)

I have watched a number of videos on You Tube recently made by disgruntled EV owners (e.g. Audi e-tron) who are getting rid of their EVs because the charging network is dire. One of them could no longer take the anxiety he was developing every time he was going to a charging station, where many chargers would be out of order, or unable to take payment and the process usually took an hour - 1/2 hour queueing, 1/2 hr charging (Not to mention the hassle from his wife questioning his sanity in buying an EV now rather than in 5 years time).

With EV cars generally £10,000 more than the ICE equivalent and a crap charging network , I don't see how the Gov't. is going to stop ICE sales by 2030

I know my Gen 1 Turbo is expensive to run, but with the cost to change on top of the above issues, I'm sticking with it for now.
That's why my Taycan went...whilst the infrastructure is improving, nowhere near as fast as EV uptake. It was a fantastic car mind you...
I'd like a range of well in excess of 400 before I reconsider...

It also needs to be a range based on the equivalent of ‘combined’. The amazing performance is on serious rations in an EV if you need to use that range and don’t want to stop and queue for an hour ;)

yeah...that was my other slight issue - couldn't really drive it as it was designed to be driven

Not sure any EV will tow a load efficiently so ICE still required here.
It could be that some of the, err, more mature gentleman on here may not have to worry too much about EV’s in the future, but they are definitely here to stay I think.
The fact is they are quicker, quieter and more advanced tech than ICE and I for one don’t intend to get blinkered by nostalgia or just good old fashioned change 😂
Ultimately we all have a choice for some time yet, I’m just not too keen on petrol prices right now and am considering the change up early.
I do like my Macan, I really do, but I’m not wedded to it so to speak… 😳
If you are struggling with the price of fuel in todays market imagine what they'll be when your shiney new 911 arrives in 24 😂🤣
911 will be very low mileage, not main transport - btw got a call today and looks like a ‘23 car now 😉
Probably due to reduced demand 😉

Exactly that, it’s a cancelled order. 😊

Yep. One cancelled order has saved you around 6 months waiting time. Nice 😉

Still mulling over whether to go the used route but prices are still very strong - hoping that they stabilise and create a bit more value 🤞

It's a tricky situation as it's a big ticket item however, I'd be more concerned if they have further cancellations. But you've got time to consider your options; unless those cancellations become real and you end up with a 2022 build slot 😊

The Torygraph thinks 911 s are a used bargain at the moment as they reckon their prices are in the top ten for percentage fall.
