I have had a chat with the SE today and he has been told that production of 718 and Macan ICE will be stopped from 2024...

Agree, and the current Macan is Porsches best selling car and keeps the company alive. It’s pretty much only the UK that has the 2030 date. Everywhere else it’s much later, and I’d be surprised if it ever happens in the US 😉

Yes I can't see them killing their cash cow. Early adopters may go for the EV. Me ill go EV when it can go 450 miles on a charge. A 20%_80% charge takes 10 minutes and I can have a 3 phase supply to my house for free.

Funnily enough I asked my sales chap at Tewkesbury about ordering a Macan S for 2024/2025 yesterday and he said they were expecting the ICE version to be made alongside the EV for a while.

There was an interesting Panorama programme.

Charging network very sporadic, offline chargers, chargers not accepting card payments.

Seems the Government is not pushing the charging network with any real desire.

Government only pushed for 6 charge units per Motorway Service Station.

Companies installing chargers are having supply issues with the electricity supply Companies ie insufficient electrical capacity

As for Porsche, probably depends upon public demand for Macan ICE and EV motors.

As Macan EV sales ramp up, ICE wait times will probably increase.

I saw that too.

Regardless of the sporadic nature, it all seems to be an over complicated faff

In my ICE, i can pull up to a "recharging station", plug in, "recharge" and then pay without touching a smart phone. Why do i need to register to "fill up"?
