My driver’s mirror is not retracting as it used to. It now doesn’t stop until it meets the window trim.
The passenger side mirror is unchanged.
Albeit I have an extended warranty my OPC are trying to suggest/prove that it has been the victim of a trauma ie been moved(!) despite there being no substantive evidence to even remotely suggest such an event.

For my part I believe the stop mechanism has failed.

It occurred to me that the mirrors should, when retracting/unretracting, probably start/stop their travel at one and the same time.

A) Do your mirrors start/stop their travel at the same time?
B) Has anyone had a similar issue? If so what were the conclusions and solutions?

Thanks. I’ll have a more thorough search than I did earlier. M

Ah, well, maybe it was your post in the PCGB forum I saw! Still this one has much greater width and an unfailing (so far) record. Come on lads, that amounts to a challenge :)

There was a post on here quite some time ago. IIRC it was the same issue. Keep searching Mike!

Hi Mike, my answers to your post regarding the same problem on the PCGB website, are still the same, the OPC who sorted mine out, changed some parts and sorted it out. Sorry but I can’t paste & copy from PCGB site onto here as I am using my phone. Stephen Todd

It happened to my drivers mirror, started to hit the glass/trim when folded. No obvious signs of impact/damage to outer casing or the glass. OPC Solihull had to order a complete new internals for the unit, as the lock stop mechanism had failed. All done under warranty in my case.

I have always thought that my drivers mirror hits the glass/trim and then stops but I don't fold my mirrors very often so am not too bothered.
