Ceramic coating or PPF or both?

Having a ceramic costing is no guarantee that it will not get white spot deposits but it will sort of make it pretty easy to clean as long as you use the right techniques.

A quick wash, and rinse with softened and de-mineralised water followed by a blow dry will keep it looking good but every few washes a thorough clean, rinse, dry and application of Quick Detailer will help keep its lustre.

The ultimate question, would I have a ceramic coating again…… No.

I would go back to a normal wash and use of a top quality wax two or three times a year.

Most of all the aesthetics of the chosen wheels would come way behind ease of them being cleaned, spyders are a sod to clean, each wheel now takes about 15 minutes and I end up soaked despite them being included in the treatment.
OCD? My cars look as good on the day I sell them as the day I pick them up :lol:

Have always gone for wheels that allow easy cleaning. I like to be able to clean all the wheel inside and out to stop the brake dust ruining them! (PCCB should make a difference as not much dust?)

Is Porsche paintwork prone to road damage? I have read some manufacturers don’t have strong paintwork, like Tesla.

I’ve owned Mercs for years and have 60K miles on my current one and there are very few stone chips and I use a motorway everyday. Same story with my previous 3. I’ve never felt the need for PPF so it rather bothers me that all you guys think it essential.

It's not. Two Macans and 5 yrs experience and no stone chips etc on bodywork. Both picked up small windscreen chips though. Seems to be an SUV problem compared to every other type of car I've owned.

Yes, I've had a new windscreen and that's now got chips, in 30K miles total.

But I find the Macan foglamps are prone to shattering. I've replaced 3 so far. Top tip: don't even consider buying the Porsche part, which is about £80. The identical foglamp is fitted to Ford, Fiats, Citroens, etc, and you can buy it for about a tenner.

I used to 18000 a year more like 7-10000 now. Always had paint protection on any car I buy. Keeping the car looking good is my main priority and protecting it from dirt, bird crap and swirls.
Maybe add the bonnet then.

I know damage can happen anytime but if you’re doing more motorway or higher speed miles then that may edge you to getting more PPF.
