Paid a visit to our OPC to view their Papaya S demo. It had been suggested elsewhere on here that we may not like it 'in the flesh'. As the car was off site to begin with we mooched around and looked at alternative colours. They have a nicely specc'd Macan base model in Night Blue with good wheels, interior etc in the showroom. The paint popped lovely indoors, but we took the sample plate outside in the sun and it lost its depth, so for us it was a 'no'. We had 'met' Gentian on the GTS we had for a weekend last year, and it didn't excite us. We renewed our recollections of Carrara White as again they had one kicking around: owning a metallic white car already, we just don't get on with the Porsche version. So, struggling a bit for option B...

Anyway he fetched the key for the Papaya.....we looked at it from distance in a shaded parking area...we weren't sure. We watched as he drove it round on public roads.....hmmmm. Better. In front of us: yep, definitely! They've specified the S very close to a GTS in styling, and it had black 18 way seats with crayon stitching on extended leather, plus grey seatbelts: very similar to the race tex extended black/crayon combo we're taking. It looked fabulous, so we're staying Papaya :D

Not sure of your actual spec, but I think Papaya looks great with black door handles and side blades. Or carbon side blades.
June 2017 Macan GTS in Carmine red with 21” gloss black sport classics, GTS leather package, Air, PASM, PDLS+, pano roof, Sports Chrono, 18 way seats, BOSE, surround view, heated seats front and rear, carbon side blades and carbon interior package.

Pics above look good on a cloudy day and would be even better when the sun’s out. 😎

Cheers,

Cheers,
It was driven round during a sunny interlude, so saw the effect of extra luminescence :D We live on the coast, so something that stands out against our sandy and blue heat-soaked background is a bonus ;)

Black sideblades with neodyme GTS logos: not into the coloured sideblade option, and prefer a contrast on the body....it'll have body coloured sill strips too, so that's a difference to the S above. Played around with black handles and can't get comfortable with them, and fingerprints on gloss black make my eyes itch, so staying orange.

Effectively, our build stands as this :-...

If fingerprints on gloss back make your eyes itch you better get some gloves to put on before you use the haptics or PCM!

My gloss black handles are fine and do not show finger prints. Maybe the ceramic coat helps?

You must be very lucky, the gloss black trim on the doors are proper finger print magnets.

Wonder if your gloss black handles will have the usual feature soon, cracks?

I have the black handles, no fingerprints. You guys need to chill a bit more, it’s only a car… 😂😂

For the 50 years of driving before I joined this forum I believed there were just two states a car could be in. Clean and dirty. Fingerprints were classified as being in the dirty category and disappeared when the car was clean. Like everything in life even car washing has now got complicated.
