I think that the new cyclist rules sound great in theory.....however....I'm sure that even more cyclists will be killed or injured (hope that I am wrong)

When did it become obligatory to wear stupidly tight Lycra no matter how much fat a rider needs to pour into it?? I rode many miles as a teenager and always seemed to be able to complete it in jeans and a T shirt. Most of the Lyra warriors just look frankly ridiculous.

I did it once, on my birthday, in 1989! No Lycra involved! :P

Same mindset as those who fit Recaro seats and a full race harness into their Ford Focus

Would that be their RS or ST Focus? Have you driven one?

I’m a cyclist out of necessity, mainly in London on my commuter bike. I have been doing so for 20 years or more to get to work when the congestion charge came into force and in that time I have seen the standard of riding has gone down hill.
I sit at traffic lights watching numerous Lycra brigade speeding past me with no regard for traffic at all. If a car dare to get in their way then they get the finger and a load of abuse.
Personally I think there are two types of cyclist, the ones who drive cars and understand the rules of the road, and the ones who do not drive a car and considers all car drivers to be an inconvenience.

I like to think I am a considerate cyclist and I always thank drivers for waiting or letting me past, likewise, when I drive I always wait and let the cyclist have some space, but frankly these Sunday Lycra cyclists do not see it this way.
