Assume you will before placing order?
Quite Possibly, but are they really that bad? Why do you ask?
Just for your own satisfaction really as it's all too easy to be influenced by comments on here as to how good the GTS is. This will also help you when speccing time comes in the summer of 2023! 😊
Of course, but to be fair I think the ex demo will provide all of those answers through ownership, that’s my thought on this anyway. The demo I have seen (there are 3 in the mix and all over the £80k mark) have a random assortment of options, not sure on the race tex yet, I’m told it looks great in the flesh, personally I’d go extended leather over extended race tex, but sales chaps have said the race tex works really well with the GTS and it’s totally at home in such models? Think it’s a £2.7k option, as mentioned personally I don’t get it, but it’s what all 3 cars have on them so it looks like I’m having it one way of the other 😂
I did find the configurator a bit hard to navigate with endless options and unclear explanations of what the option gives you over standard. The Race tex option is one such thing, standard GTS has race tex as standard, so unsure what extra bits the £2.7k gets you over stitching and ?

Key to Porsche ownership in the most financial prudent way is patience, place your order to your spec and wait. What you drive while you wait and what it costs needs careful thought.
This is what was frying my brain in the early hours, certainly don’t want to be taking a double hit come resell. When I first set out to look at the GTS last year, I did stay in touch with a few sales guys who seemed to stand out above the rest, they also kept me in the loop of things going on, including available slots and demo cars becoming available etc..
Without going into too much yet (need to close the deal first of course before throwing it out to the wolves) there’s a couple of demos available at list, but well specd, plus a slot has become available from a drop out, again last year I did ask if I could be kept in the loop of such things happening, guys came through and offered me the option of taking the slot if I wanted it.
My thought is the depreciation in my current X5 if I kept it until the new GTS order arrives could we’ll match the demos depreciation one resell when my GTS arrives? Who know as I’ve literally just seen a GTS disappear this morning off autotrader that was up for £97k it’s bonkers out there in the used car market that’s for sure and not making things easy to compute.

Just business savvy my friend, in my experience it always pays to do some due diligence certainly from a financial POV before, then not worry after. YMMV
But agree with you I do get obsessed with such things, my misses hates it 😂
We’ve all been there and we’re all guilty of it, we are after all blokes who like cars

I'm taking the view of a normal big petrol powered SUV hit in depreciation when I shift mine in around 30 months time. The current used car market bubble will eventually burst especially for larger engine ICE cars going forward.

Agreed. It’s only money at the end of the day and is in fact a renewable commodity if you are working. Try putting a couple of kids through university (as I’m sure many on here have) if you really want to see what “depreciation” looks like - I could have bought two GTS’s with that dosh! 😂
Either way we all tread our own path…

I can remember beginning of 2020 when ‘The virus that must not be named’ hit and we all stock pilled bog roll, a thread broke out on a certain forum with everyone speculating on car sales etc. don’t think anyone got it right, no one predicted a war in Ukraine that’s for sure. The reality is who knows, we can’t factor in the who knows variable, when you do you just end up awake in the early hours trying to fathom some sense from it. I think I’m right in saying the Macan is a desirable car and attracts buyers who do have more disposable income to some degree. I know we should never trust sales guys but more than a few that I spoke too said their order books have never been so full. Yes I know some of that will be down to the fact new cars are trickling out off the production line, but Porsche are pretty cute with how they manage supply and demand anyway, which does keep prices higher than average.
I think projecting 30 months time is even harder to decipher, hence why I try to keep it to 12 months or less for my cars, regarding if/when the bubble will burst, I’m not so sure, you may even find that used prices may actually inflate/bolster the price on new retail if anything, subsequently maintaining the shift in the used car market that we’re seeing. I say this because I don’t see any evidence of things really slowing down, there’s mention of Used cars flattening off, but reality is they’re still selling. As mentioned that £97k Macan disappeared off autotrader this morning, from memory it’s was a £70k car in Crayon (I actually really like this colour, it’s grown on me somewhat). It’s all gone max I tell thee

Ah, but you’re are a shrewd investor in the future my friend. What was it…. “I believe that children are our future, teach them well and one day they will buy you a Porsche” can’t remember the words exactly, think there was also mention or care homes as well but not 100%, but point being , if you have or haven’t got kids buy a Porsche because either way they cost the same? 😂
