What was it…. “I believe that children are our future, teach them well and one day they will buy you a Porsche” can’t remember the words exactly, think there was also mention or care homes as well but not 100%, but point being , if you have or haven’t got kids buy a Porsche because either way they cost the same?Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:41 am
Agreed. It’s only money at the end of the day and is in fact a renewable commodity if you are working. Try putting a couple of kids through university (as I’m sure many on here have) if you really want to see what “depreciation” looks like - I could have bought two GTS’s with that dosh!
Either way we all tread our own path…

It'll be interesting to hear your comparison with the X5 after testing a GTS

Different animals to be fair, I know this before I even sit in the Macan. The X5 has been one of the best all rounders I’ve had. But the option list on this one is extensive. I don’t foresee any issues in selling it that’s for sure. The tech I feel (I maybe wrong) is a level above on the X5, the new iDrive I think is the best in the business, with others now catching up though I must say. The Laser lights alone on the X5 are simply incredible at night, the Macan options for this I found to be lacking, not saying they’re inadequate just not the same level. I also have full extended merino leather, again, for the smell alone they're beautiful. Sky lounge panoramic roof with thousands of LEDs built into the glass, again at night the cabin is like sitting in the best 1st class lounge and the ambient lighting is sublime. BMW did well with this latest X5, The list goes on.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:59 am It'll be interesting to hear your comparison with the X5 after testing a GTS
But, she’s not a Porsche and not a GTS, in the perfect world I’d own both.

In a perfect world I'd stick with the BM and forget about the size What engine does it have BTW?

Indeed! The X5 is a brilliant car and even more so with the 40 or 50 d engine. I have a used Kia Sportage that we run as the “runabout/dogs” car and the tech and build quality are excellent. It won’t look or drive as well as the Macan but am now wondering how much I would get to enjoy the drive on UK roads.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:19 am In a perfect world I'd stick with the BM and forget about the size What engine does it have BTW?
I still haven’t ruled out flipping mine and just sticking with the runabout!

Really? Would you be thinking the same if used prices were at Normal levels?Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:24 amIndeed! The X5 is a brilliant car and even more so with the 40 or 50 d engine. No probably not Mac to be fair and may change my mind and keep it when I eventually get it. I am a little disillusioned with the whole buying process though and maybe that’s tainting my thoughts, or maybe reading all the complaints on here (about everything) is making me nervous that a £70k car can be so behind other makes - it seems the only thing a Macan excels at is driving experience and lags on tech, build quality, lights and niggling problems?PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:32 amReally? I just need to get it (been at Grimsby for nine days) and enjoy it, I’m sure it will be fine…

It’s the M50D, the one with 4 turbos, and can still hit 40mpg+ on a run.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:19 am In a perfect world I'd stick with the BM and forget about the size What engine does it have BTW?

Didn't you see the clause in the contract where you agreed not to sell for 6 months?Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:24 am......PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 11:19 am In a perfect world I'd stick with the BM and forget about the size What engine does it have BTW?
