Hi all, wondering if anybody can help on this one.
Just noticed the passenger side headlight is not flush with the bonnet, the rubber seal at the rear of the light is clearly above bonnet level while the drivers side is totally flush.
Any ideas or help on how to adjust it??
No signs of damage.
Thanks
Headlight not flush
daft question but is the bonnet actually shut fully? May be worth opening and closing it again.
The headlights slide in and slightly downwards from the front, and are then secured with a 10mm hex head screw, one on the outer side and the other on the inner side. The surrounding plastic trim and seals are fitted afterwards, secured with numerous plastic trim clips. It looks to me as thought the headlight has not been slid into position correctly, possibly the rubber vent tube or front washer tube is trapped underneath.
Search YouTube for videos on swapping headlight bulbs, these clearly show removal and refitting of the headlights, this just one example…

This is a common issue, and as above easily solved by resetting the lamp unit which can be fitted wrongly only to be discovered after the bonnet is closed. U underneath the lamp unit assembly is a spigot which fits into the metal work frame below as the unit slides into place - obvious when you see it all. Whereabouts are you in the UK?
Thanks all, no the headlight wasn’t like that when I first viewed the car, however there was a Week delay in picking the car up as OPC had to fit a new water pump to put an extended warranty on it. AFAIK to fit the water pump they take a few parts off the front, if that involved the headlight I’d imagine they failed to fit it back on correctly and it went unnoticed when I collected it.
I will investigate further over the coming days and revert back.
Great info and much appreciated.
