Anyone know if the Apple Car play works over blue tooth in the Macan, or is it a dreaded cable?

No, doesn't work. That's what I did on my way back from picking the car up and hit a traffic jam, but no indication from the Nav that there was one.
From further investigation, the road is meant to show a green line if all clear (and orange if heave traffic restricting speeds), and not getting that either!

I think the real time traffic info only works if Porsche connect has been linked correctly - you OPC should be able to work this out. I’ve just shelled out on a 1 year subscription for the Panamera seeing as Porsche only supply this for the first 2 years from purchase :| . I often just use google maps via Apple car play - it’s generally pretty up to date in terms of traffic and if I’ve been searching for anything on my phone it is already in recent destinations so makes navigating even easier.

Porsche Connect is no longer used from what OPC suggested. We’ve been told to register a MyPorsche ID and all services are maintained through that now. Despite the site showing we have real time navigation activated (given car is brand new), traffic still doesn’t show. Suggest it’s a issue affecting quite a few new cars!

Porsche Connect is still active, as I renewed my licence in December last year, and I have traffic info on my PCM.

Everything is moving over to the My Porsche app. I still had my old Porsche Connect app on my phone from my previous car, but when I try to use it I get a failure message - something to do with being incompatible with My Porsche app, which it detected was also on my phone!
In all honesty, it's a total mess and the OPC's seem to have no idea what's going on, what you need to do to get things working, etc.

Here is all the info regarding Porsche Connect, and under the ‘features’ option you can see the Navigation with Real-Time Traffic Information.

For those not getting the Real-Time Traffic Information, you should get your OPC to make sure your PCM is correctly registered to the Porsche Connect system.

Good luck with that. Mine showed my ID about 3 times since the car was new, and hasn’t worked since. Porsche connected services ( on a Gen 3 ) just flat out don’t work. I can’t say for Gen1/2 because I haven’t owned one

Does that not say its “navigation plus”? I thought that was a separate service. To quote:

With Navigation Plus, you will always find the fastest route to your destination – thanks to real-time traffic information. In this way, you and your Porsche can respond to live traffic conditions at all times. You will easily get all the latest online information, including route updates, traffic updates and tailback information, directly in your Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. With all of this at your disposal, an enjoyable trip is guaranteed.
Using your Porsche ID, your destinations are synchronised with the PCM and the My Porsche app.
You also have access to real-time traffic data, with current traffic conditions depicted in five different colours, so you will always know what’s happening on the roads. In addition, you will get online map updates based on your location and destination, as well as all available satellite maps.

It also says you need to use your Porsche ID, which, like I said previously, has never worked for me
