In my case, I did my homework, I found out which OPC supplied the car and carried out its first service, I phoned them and got the history and a spec sheet, I also phoned RedLine Porsche specialist who carried out the second service in May 21 at four years old. Up to this point the car had no issues. Shortly after the first and only owner sold the car to Cazoo and I bought it due to the fantastic spec and the colour I wanted.
So, without trying to justify my purchase to anyone, I bought a well cared for, one owner, 25k mile car with new N rated Michelins (albeit N1 on the rear and N0 on the front) and a full service history at OPC/Specialist. All Cazoo did was put a battery on it and possibly new tyres, although the previous owner may have done that.
I went in eyes wide, I spent £2k on paint correction and ceramic coat, new tyres and a Porsche second service to satisfy the warranty requirements.
I never said that Cazoo should pay for the battery, I have had good service from Cazoo, it was only suggested on here that Cazoo should pay for the battery.
So what is so wrong with buying from Cazoo under these circumstances? My previous experience with the OPC was so bad I said I would never go back, the car came home with more issues than it went in for each time, I even had to have it recovered due to a major fuel leak following the OPC EGR replacement. So the OPC service is not the holy grail, just a means to keep a warranty in my eyes.

So, please stop the grilling me, I love the car and I have no regrets.

Thanks
Apologies if a come across as “ grilling “.
Just shooting the breeze with the OPC vs none OPC used SD routes .
Mostly for the benefit of folks sat on the fence wondering which way to leap .

Apart from the batt once that’s done they might ( if they had 1/2 a business brain ) sucker you in to a warranty then do you at the next routine service on consumables , suspension bushes and the like .Ready to front up the row you present re little milage done since it’s 111 pointer .

As a service manager on a bonus scheme any loaf is better that no loaf at all .They know they have hooked you when you enrol with the warranty which is a insurance product VW sell .
This is different from the 2 yr OPC warranty tossed in on there for court gear .The Porsche approved warranty is the same as a new car up to cars 15 yrs as long as they qualify.

I would have thought metal coming into the workshop that’s temporarily been outside the OPC network ( you say it’s been to redline for service ) is future cannon fodder .

Where as a car totally known to them from day dot recycled, sorry re sold by them never been out of the clutches of a OPC would be more difficult to drum up revenue .

Interesting to see during the next 12/18 months how much of the cazoo saving is gobbled up and how much grief you are gonna get every time it enters OPC workshop bay once the ink is dry on the warranty cheque you have just handed over .

I hope my hunch is wrong .

Well, this is the second time I've done this. My previous Macan was bought outside of the Porsche network and I added the warranty when the time came, I had that car for a further two years and renewed the warranty for the third year and I never had any such issues, everything was covered.
Interesting that you think the warranty is some how different from the warranty received with an OPC used car, that's not my experience and it is exactly the same as the warranty my friend received with his second hand Macan bought from OPC Bournemouth. Where did you get this impression from?

That is the whole point in the 111 check, so Porsche know the car is suitable to accept within the Porsche warranty, it may be an insurance, but no different to the warrant6y offered on OPC used cars as far as I'm aware.
