Tyre reviews (same as the link above, very good channel) has just done a video on Goodyear Assym5 v Assym6 v Goldyear winter tyre, that shows you why there are different treads/compounds.

where did you get these figures?
Youtube video seems to debunk your view
Up here in Scotland it's cooler and wetter (average ambient temp is between 2 and 15C) so for me winters are the best option. They are also very good off road.

Looking at the expected monthly temperatures for Inverness, I would argue there is a case for winters from early October to early May but for the rest of the year, close examination of the tyre reviews evidence, summers would give better performance on roads even in the wet.

I would however accept using winters all year in the Highlands is no worse than someone in Southern England using summers all year ;) ;)

Really use dictates the choice, not much comparison between the needs of a highland vet and a Sussex IT home worker is there?

Disagree, if it's an effing garage queen tyres make SFA difference!

Actually looking at the graph of one set of circumstances , wet braking , you have added that shows Cross climate as best option apart from Porsche warranty issues, with all season beating winters as well even at low temps

My OPC ( part of the negotiations) put a new set of Pirellis verde all seasons No rated on my new to me Macca SD .
We winter in Switzerland so needs a bit more than summers .
Previous cars I had spare sets of wheels + tyres .Tyres winters on the Bentley buts it’s hassle changing from W to S and back etc to keep the TPMS active on the same rims .
So with the Macca we have gone for all seasons .Mind I do have chains that fit both axils .
Theses are proper wrap round chains as Porsche recommends not the strip ones across the centre .
You ( according to Porsche ) can only fit chains on the rear of 18 s and 19 s and only on the fronts of 18 s .

Used them a few times in previous yrs on ML s RR and Cayenne.Cayenne having diff locks remember.A centre and rear axial .
Going down hill on ice hairpins with chains on the front is just as ( life saving ? ) important as putting them in the rears going up hill to a resort potentially holding up traffic .

So for me it’s no different wheel phaf or tyre swopping every 6/12 with the Macca .Probably leave the Bentley on summers in the U.K. now .

All season + front + rear proper chains is the way to go .

Previous pork = Cayenne S , 968 CS , 911 , even a 924 !
