Would love to know the genuine reason that Ts are more accessible. You’d think they’d concentrate on the most expensive first. All I can think is that they have a much bigger margin on the T over any other model.

I had an order in for a Base but changed to a T as soon as the details/pricing were released.

It transpires that brought my build date (now May) forward a bit and will apparently mean I will also miss out on an impending Australian price rise.

I’m beginning to feel my Macan ownership slipping away to be honest. Think I need to book my experience day to re-ignite the excitement.

Mercedes are still building cars for stock in small numbers and it’s very tempting just to make a call and be in a car within a week.

I know exactly what you mean…I’ve got a Cayman at the moment and am only really changing because I want a new car (& Caymans have even longer leads than the Macan) and for a little added practicality…I keep looking at the Cayman and thinking if I get the diamond cut alloys recut it’d be like a new car why am I changing but the new car bug has got me now!

I would also say the Porsche attitude to extended warranty on the Cayman is also thinking do I want to put my money with them!

A much bigger profit margin on a fully loaded GTS, than on a T. :geek:

They would rather sell 100 Ts with a £10k margin than 20 GTSs with a £15k margin. Problem is that they can't build enough of either so it is a skewed market for the time being.

So why wouldn’t they choose to build 100 GTS’s though?

They probably get three orders for a T for every order of a GTS? Two orders for an S for every one of a GTS..

I am very much in the same sentiment here. I've had the second email to book PEC so will look to do that then decide whether I am still in it for one or just fed up of waiting

They maybe need to sell a certain number of 2.0 and 2.0T to keep the average emission figure down. If a 2.0 or a T has a (much) lower waiting time than an S or a GTS, some folks who need/want a new car more quickly, will order a 2.0 or a T for that reason.

Cheers,
Simon
