Lots of negative posts on the new T Macan Porsche have identified a very possible way of selling more Macans and not everyone wants or needs a GTS or an S model but are quite happy with a Base 2litre model. The T model will probably encourage more sales for Porsche and as a retired owner of a motor factoring company increased sales is not to be frowned on.The average Joe public probably does not know the difference between a GTS/S/T or any other derivative of a Macan they just know its a PORSCHE.Most persons who are interested in motor vehicles are very likely to be aware of the build quality of Porsche vehicles and would be very happy to own a Porsche Macan of any model.Having owned and driven GTS /Turbo and Model S Macans i would be happy to purchase a T model it is STILL a Porsche whatever model you choose to own

I agree 100%. I have seen several reviews of the Macan T that are generally complimentary.

It gets boring when people (you know who you are) continually slag off the 2.0 4-cylinder Macan. There was a lot of this some years ago when I bought my first Porsche: a Gen I 2.0 Macan 🙄

Just wait until they spec the Skoda 1.0 TSI engine and badge it as the Macan Heritage 356 😂

I recall fondly one forum member that insisted on calling the base model the "Macan 2.0 Turbo" :D

The real value in most Porsches is the options list and the T has a lot of that out of the box, so a good value, especially when it comes to the standard valuation at a later date.

I reckon I'd be happy with the T. No Macan is particularly fast and the lighter nose should make it a bit more lively 👍

As the letter T follows S I expect Joe public will think it’s the next step up from an S anyway ;)

My Macan SD is coming up 5 years old and has served me well, I like the look of the T and thinking about putting a deposit down, probably keep the options list light, Pano Roof, Air and maybe a couple of other bits. Dealer says delivery timeframe for the T should be better than a new S or base but interested in what others have heard.

Some people on here claim that the 2.0 is underpowered, while others happily own a 2.0. Your best bet is to read lots of reviews & road tests, and to go for a test drive yourself. Clearly the 2.0 4-cylinder engine will give a different experience to the 2.9 V6. So try both! It is likely to be the case that you’ll get a new 2.0 quicker than an S or GTS. It’s worth trying a few different OPCs, as allocations and order books will vary.

It may also be the case that an OPC can get you into a T more quickly than a base 2.0.

Don’t pay too much attention to the vocal anti-2.0 brigade on here, before you’ve had a test drive yourself. ;)

Cheers,
Simon

I was in the OPC bending the ear of the salesman over my order…he said the T’s will get priority for allocation as they are a ‘new’ model over the standard 2l

They’ve been told not to expect any allocation (for any model) until July…not sure how true that was and how much it was them trying to buy time after promising me one thing and doing another LOL
