But the smart ones will fit solar panels and power banks to their houses and for 25 years get “free” overnight car charging.

To run a house and charge a 90kwh Macan all for "free" will require an array the size of a football pitch. And still wouldn't stop the EVLevy on car chargers. :D

This country doesn't have the infrastructure in place for everyone to have electric cars anyway. The electricity cables underground in most places are old and wouldn't be able to cope with everyone having charging points on the outside of their houses either.

Lots still needs to be done for us all to own battery powered full electric cars.

Agreed. Every time I read an EV review I think that it's perhaps time I got with the program.
Then I go out in my car and see the thousands of other cars on the roads and parked up and I think nah, ain't gonna happen.

It's way too soon to make the jump which is why I ordered the Macan. I often see people having issues charging their cars at service stations or they aren't charging as quickly as they should.

In this scenario I wish I had a crystal ball because I have a feeling that battery powered electric cars aren't the cars of the future.

Also cars are going to be pretty boring without the noise of a nice petrol engine, I will miss the scream of a V12 or the growl of a V8. For instance the new car designed by Gordon Murray sounds amazing on track.

The latest Macan EV spy video looks nice...

Looks like the cayenne coupe with the adaptive spoiler at the back raised.
