Hi all,

I'm about to order a Macan S but wanted to check If I'm missing anything crucial off the option list?

This will be my first SUV from Porsche, I will be trading in my current GT4 due to needing 4 seats. I'm under no illusion the Macan will replace the GT4 but I'd like to still drive the Macan enthusiastically sometimes.

Any recommendations will be appreciated

All I'd say is if you're replacing a GT4, would you not be better going for the GTS?

I would say that it is impossible to feel or use the difference in performance between an S and GTS on ANY road. May be on a track but then why would you?

That’s a stealthy looking S.

You’ll get all sorts of replies & opinions. I would drop the Bose sound system and add Sports Exhaust, so you can drop the sport tailpipes too, as they come with PSE.

It's very black, except for the wheel centres! I entertained the self park but was told in the OPC that "It's very slow, you'll use it once then never again" plus with the 360 view it's unnecessary. Nobody seems to have a good word for the "+" on the PDLS. Apparently the garage door opener "is very hit and miss, too many different door mechanisms around", OPC again. No personal experience but consensus on Bose seems to be: it could add weeks to the delivery.......... and it's not worth £834 more than standard. All else seems similar to my spec..

You nailed it apart from Homelink, dump it as it is flaky, and add a spare wheel.

Maxing out performance then Sports Chrono does that and air suspension will enable the S to be lower or better still buy a GTS.

My OPC said a Macan GTS will be 2023 and I need the extra seat for August 2022, otherwise I would have gone for one.

Bose – Is it really that poor? I've added it to all my build before but when you've got a flat 6 behind you, I've never been able to tell if Bose sounds that good or not.

Self Park – The Mrs has made me tick this box. I will see if I can get into a demo car and test it for myself. You're right though, with the 360 view, it might not be worth it.

HomeLink – I've been using the function to open the gates and garage door via CarPlay so far which is fine, I just wanted to get rid of the fob on my keyring. I've never bothered ticking this option before.

Another question – regarding wheel choice. Last month when I was playing on the configurator, the GT style wheel that the GTS and GT4 have were available on the Macan S, you can see used vehicles for sale with the very same wheels. Now you cannot option them?
