Perhaps I’ll be driving a new classic car by then, my Macan SJon A wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 7:30 pmAgreed Skyway, but actually around a dozen nuclear power plants would triple what we currently put into the grid, so not so onerous. The problem is they may take 10-20 years to come on line!
Either way it doesn’t matter because we WILL be all EV starting the process in earnest when you can’t buy an ICE car in 8 years…

Odd post. If you read mine you’ll see I’m quite pro electric cars and have said my next car will be electric. Maybe the “ you need to get out more “ comment was tongue in cheek.cc3 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 3:32 pmYou need to get out more it’s the future. Gas guzzlers won’t be allowed near towns and cities

My comment 100% stands. What “cheap” electric cars are you aware of? Even things like the electric Corsa at close to £30k, which is a lot for a Vauxhall, aren’t exactly cheap. Great saying it only costs 3p to fill it up but thats a bit of a moot point if you can’t afford to buy one in the first place
Are you suggesting there are plenty of “cheap” and usable electric cars? By cheap I’m thinking sub £25k, and frankly a lot of people will still see that as expensive

One thing I'm sure about is when the Macan gets a new owner whatever I get on it money wise will be what I'll spend on my next car which will no doubt be an EV. That's how excited I am about it!! Let's hope I can do better than the Citroën above

There are some decent electric cars around the £25k mark but most people it will be the monthly cost that counts I guess. We run a Mini electric great car for around town and quick. Costs me 1p per mile to run

Yeah, i had a regular mini ( well, a cooper S with the JCW tuning kit, silly Bluetooth exhaust and remapped engine ) and it was a great little car. I also have a friend that has an electric mini and loves it. But he also has a petrol car and only uses the mini for short journeys and charges at home. Wouldn’t work for me because I can’t charge at home, live in the sticks and often drive long distances for work. So I need something that charges quickly and has over 300 miles of range and at the moment that really only means Tesla, and they are more expensive ( on a lease ) than my highly specced Macan S, so not a great deal of incentive to buy one.cc3 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 7:35 pmAs you say tongue in cheekTHHGTTG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 3:49 pmOdd post.
