Sometimes on startup my SD card is no longer 'available' if it was the last source before engine switch off. When I switch on I have to re-select SD card as the source again, it picks up from the last song that was playing. This is really annoying me ...

After eight years of Porsche ownership, I've learnt not to get annoyed with the quirks of the PCM. Sometimes the system was on mute when shut down but came on at restart. If I was playing a source other than radio, the car would restart with the system on radio. All part of the "fun".

Try using a different make of SD card.
I have both Sandisk and Lexar and neither has given any issues.
