Interesting and I like Harry's reports. Personally I would not want a 911, but if I did the GTS would be the one.FirstSeaLord wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 6:55 amSAC1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 11:03 amHave you seen this video reportFirstSeaLord wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 10:41 am
Yep. Was given the opportunity, so went for it. Touring version, arriving September / October.
Part 2. Wish mine would hurry up and arrive.
Day out at PEC today!

What a nice bloke! Just watched those two videos back to back.
The Touring is a beautiful bit of kit!
Wonder if the ride in the Touring was affected by tyre pressures?
Agree with Harry that it’s a great shame that Porsche can’t/won’t build more of their GT cars.
Looking forward to pics and your first impressions when you get yours!
Steve, I agree that the GTS 992 is the sweet spot, but Harry seems very taken with the 992 Turbo S that he drove.

Can't agree more, the Rolls to the Arctic circle really got me wanting to to the same, having driven Denmark and Sweden but not Norway.
The Testarossa to Morocco was another great one to watch.
He is so easy to watch and down to earth, nothing like a chilled Sunday with Harry's Garage

Agree with everyone that Harry's one of the very best You Tubers. Would love to spend an hour or two just bumbling round his garage hearing about each car and its history, then going out in one with him before settling in at some Cotswold pub to hear more about his car experiences.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 8:14 am What a nice bloke! Steve, I agree that the GTS 992 is the sweet spot, but Harry seems very taken with the 992 Turbo S that he drove.
There seem to be various factors affecting how the Touring steers. Some are speculation:
Tyres. John Howell on PH did a review of the same car Harry drove. When John drove it it was on P-Zero Corsas, which he attributed to the more compliant ride and less nervous steer. However in the video Harry says that the Touring is on the same tyres as the GT3 he drove so maybe it was on Cups this time around.
Tyre pressures. Apparently and I guess unsurprisingly a big factor.
Suspension set up. Two of my friends have Tourings. Both found them too fidgety until they took them to CG to get fettled. Suspect that Harry may be referring to CG in the video when he talks about feedback from suspension specialists as I know they've had many 992 GT3s through their workshop.
Rear wing. The Touring's set up is heavier than the fixed wing. Rumour has it that Porsche have marginally softened the Touring's suspension as a result but they deny that.
And yes, 992 GTS and Turbo S both great cars. I particularly do like the idea of the latter. All good choices though.
