Today my 2016 macan diesel s had a front suspension spring failure - completely sheared at bottom - wondering if unusual?

Not too impressed so far as both front drive shafts needed replaced 12 months ago and fairly sure the transfer box is on the way out.

Great car but very disappointing quality so far.

Did you buy it new? If you bought it used i wonder if it had been abused as drive shafts and springs would normally be expected to last more than 41k miles.

Probably the state of the roads does not help. Motorists probably paying a fortune for damaged wheels, tyres and suspension

The potholes around my area of West Yorks in last year or two are dreadful. This Summer driving around Cheshire and the Cotswolds the roads were noticeably better . I had 21” wheels on my last Macan but going back to 20” wheels in order to get a bit more sidewall.

I find it ironic that councils can spend / waste so much money on speed bumps etc. when the roads are often full of road works and pot holes.

Thanks for replies and yes think previous abuse, bad roads etc - bought used 12 months ago from Porsche Leeds. Love the car but never been too happy with way it drives at low speed, very rough at times and these parts failures are pretty bad for confidence. Off to Porsche Glasgow tomorrow for the spring, tracker which is on it's 3rd failure and checking transfer case to see if bad enough to replace yet :(

May need to write a letter to Porsche UK I think - was my first after mostly BMW ownership and so far very disappointed in quality despite loving the car......the AA man did not look surprised which tells it's own story

Suggest you get a full 4 wheel geometry carried out once the spring is changed.
