Slated for 2024 model year now

I’m kinda interested to see where this goes and how the new Macan EV plays out. If done right it could be monumental. Fingers crossed.

I hope in the EV the electric PCM and electrically adjusted air con work better than on my 22 ICE GTS!!!

I like the nostrils on the artist impression vehicle in the opening post

You won’t be able to use any of those things in the EV

Looks like 2023 at the very earliest now.

Does not the article imply production was planned for 2023 but now will be later??

Apparently they had already started pre-production runs consistent with my original expectation of late 2022 announcement.

"Executives at Porsche and Audi are frustrated by the delays.

Audi wants to begin pre-series production of the Q6 e-tron, its upcoming Tesla Model Y rival, at its home plant in Ingolstadt, Germany, at the end of the year. Series production is now planned to start in September 2023. "We need the software for this now," said one manager.

Porsche has already begun pre-series production of the electric Macan at its factory in Leipzig, Germany. "The hardware is great," a Porsche source told Automobilwoche. "But the software is still missing.""

Perhaps Porsche will go straight to Solid State batteries, with much better power-density ratio.
More and more news around Toyota, Ford and BMW making large investments in startups prepping for large-scale production. Eg.

I got contacted by Porsche Mid Sussex through IG telling me that if I wanted an EV Macan now would be a very good time to give them a deposit because they think they will be massively on back-order. Me thinks that may be, at least partially, a sales ploy perhaps?

Possibly one for another thread, but I wonder if the massive energy crisis set to befall Germany over the winter ( if the press are to be believed) will impact even further on Porsche supply woes.
