Isn't this the Recall that all Gen 3's have recently had? Mine had 3 recalls, all software, applied as part of the PDI.

Sounds like it, the all wheel drive software modification to limit the torque applied by the transfer box under certain conditions. This is not the same as the failed transfer box issue that has been affecting all Macans for a number of years and for which the fix is to replace the transfer box with a modified version under the seven year warranty introduced to cover this fault.

My Gen 3 Macan S with only 4k miles has been in twice to the OPC for a similar software update on the Transfer/Gearbox. I can only describe the sensation as a slip/blip occurring in Gear 2 at approx 1500/2000 revs on application of slight throttle input while slowly accelerating. One would ordinarily think of it as a harsh gearchange however this does not coincide with any change of gear!. My best description is when I was caught up in slow moving traffic in gear 2 (gear 1 engages when you stop) every time I slightly depressed the throttle to keep up with the traffic there was a slip/blip from the drivetrain (could also be described as going over a bump).... no gear change occurred. I must point out that this is not noticeable with aggressive throttle inputs( or in sport mode) as acceleration through the gears is quick, smooth and imperceptible. Since the 2 OPC visits the frequency has reduced but still occurs, in all honesty its more annoying than anything else!. I must add that I noticed the same issue occur when I drove a similar mileage GEN 3 MACAN S at my Silverstone experience day.
