After owning my Macan S diesel for 12 months I love the car I have just been contacted by Porsche to say my car is due for its first MOT in October and is also requiring a free software update I think all updates and 2 year service were conducted before I took delivery of the vehicle from Porsche Glasgow September 2019 but was wondering what the software update is. Has anyone had a recent software update, unfortunately I didn't ask the purpose of the update. Is there anyway you can check with Porsche what the update relates to.

It’s probably Service Campaign WKL0, which is a DME software update for diesels.

Be careful about any diesel DME software updates. If your diesel is working well ie no issues with regen then I would leave well alone.

I have a an SD and received a letter earlier this year stating that I had a software update due. It was related to the PCM and something to do with satnav / google satellite view so not specific to diesels. It may be this update they are referring to.

My car has the latest software updates relating to the diesel emissions / engine management and I've experienced no issues. To be fair it was updated when I purchased it in November 2019 so I cant compare before and after. All I can say is it runs great, no DPF issues and I'm pleased with eth fuel economy.
