Dealer offering the GEN-3 ceramic coating at £799 which is comparable with independent companies. They have confirmed it’s done in house and not contracted out.

Obviously it’s all down to prep and application.

Has anyone had it done and got any feedback?

Call me a ceramic coating sceptic. Had my Tesla done and it makes FA difference to cleaning 😄

I'm not convinced that ceramic coating is value-for-money, even if it's done by a specialist detailer. I'd certainly never buy it from a dealership, which will probably use the lad who cleans cars to apply it!

I've never had a car with Ceramic coating however, my OPC offered the GTechniq Platinum Coating FOC on my recent purchase. Yes, it normally costs £799 and Yes, it's done by GTechniq trained Porsche personnel. My car is Jet Black Metallic and I can categorically say that it does make a difference insofar as it always looks shiny -even when dirty- and the rain appears to wash away residue dust etc.. and it's definitely easier to wash and dry.

Try to negotiate a deal on price with your OPC, after all you're paying over £90k for a car and it probably only costs them around £60-90 for the whole process!!

Don't be put off by the fact that it's not been applied by an "Expert" as if Porsche mess it up, Porsche has to put it right!! It also comes with a 5 year guarantee.

Good luck ;)

I had Topaz do PPF and ceramic coating at Bristol on my GTS and I’m glad I did. PPF saved bonnet chips and Ceramic makes the dirt almost wash off, I wouldn’t hesitate again on a purchase of this value. It wasn’t cheap but in my opinion a worthwhile investment

My dealer threw in gtechnic plat as part of the deal. It does keep it shiny.
