Water Ingress 2017 GTS

Hi all,

New to this forum, and I come with issues (well the car not me)

I have a 2017 model year GTS. And I have the dreaded water ingress coming from the panoramic roof drainage. I want to remove the headliner but there seems to be a special took required to get the sun visors off. Porsche have used some sort of contraption to hold the thing in place. Does anyone know where to get this item from or have a workaround to remove the visors (without damaging them)? I've dismantled part of the roof but am now stuck on this.

I vaguely recall seeing a video of the roof being fettled in a link somewhere on this forum, it's just a question of finding it and hoping it helps!

I should have added that I think you're incredibly brave attempting to get into the headlining yourself! If you do some Googling, you should find a free download of the repair manual. Try Googling for "Porsche Macan 2015 2016 Repair Manual". The manual is real step-by-step stuff and quite informative.

Similarly, you should be able to find a free download of the parts manual, which helps to clarify which bits are which.

Took me a few goes to get one of the chapters to open - and it worked with Chrome but not Safari - so a bit flaky. I've downloaded it so PM if you need help

Has the headliner been water damaged? Not sure why you need to remove it to sort drainage out?

is it a case of cleaning out the drain pipes at the back?

Thanks all who have responded. Was kind of thinking that I would get emails when people replied but never did. I suppose I have to turn this feature on like other forums.

I'll go through what you have sent me and let you know how I get on.
