Hi all,
Very annoyed to find this scratch on the bodywork of my mk 1 Macan GTS. Any ideas on fixing this without major respray or repair by OPC. Ps luckily no dent or other damage to bodywork.

I’ve used SONAX PROFILINE Perfectfinish to remove light scratches in the past, however, if you can feel the depth of the scratch with your fingernail, then it’ll be too deep to polish out by hand.

Following the polish, give the area a few coats of a good wax.

If it won't polish out, a "smart repair" specialist would be able to sort it.

Sonax do a slightly stronger product for scratches SONAX PROFILINE Ex 04-06.

I have also used G3 Pro 7163 150ml G3 Professional Scratch Remover Paste..
if that does work buy a Chipex kit which always comes in useful for stone chips

I would try every other option before resorting to paint. From the looks of it it should machine polish out. As per AllanG if your nail catches, it is too far gone.

If you try touch up paint (I've had VERY mixed results with Chipex - much better on dark colours) I'd strongly recommend one of these for applying the paint.

I bought a few after watching this video

It was bit of a banger but I did a Suzuki Swift that had been keyed all down the offside for a friend using the Low Cornell pen and the results were outstanding

Maguiars Scratch X20 is one of the best on the market, a liquid polish that will safely remove all light scratches without damaging paintwork

Thank you so much everyone for your help and suggestions. I am thinking of selling the car early next year so I am wondering if I should wait to get this scratch sorted along with others that might occur all in one go around that time. However do you think that waiting until then is ok and won't make it any harder to remove (from what you can see on the photo)?

Have a go with some colour polish, something like this:

Worked wonders on my wife's red Audi TT with stone chips showing the white primer along the front of the bonnet

I can't see any reason for it to get worse. It's not down to the metal and even if it was with a galvanised body shell the dreaded tin worm wouldn't get a grip.
