But the eu box only records the last 60 seconds and will only be used when there's an accident. And then will only provide data if the engine is shut off immediately otherwise it will carry on recording when the car is stationery. It will be another job for the boys exercise.THHGTTG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 9:50 amThat’s the problem though. All those are “recorded” things. Currently you we can drive like a bunch of spanners and it only impacts our insurance if we’re caught doing it. If there’s someone watching you all the time then your insurance will go through the roof. I used to work with a young girl that had an insurance black box fitted and she actually got a warning from her insurance company saying that if she didn’t moderate her driving style they’d cancel her insurance. She had no points, no fines and had never been pulled-over but the black box was always watching. If she did have her insurance cancelled that would definitely increase her premiums. That will happen to all of us, irrespective of age, location, points, milage driven etc.Bluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 7:24 am I'm not sure if it would affect premiums for the over 25s that much. Location, previous driver accidents, penalties and miles driven must account for 95% of the premium.
Simple answer. Drive slowly
