Yes the .2 version, base carerra. It’s got sunroof, SC, Bose, full leather and a few other bits and bobs.
She’s been looking for a few weeks and pretty much all over £80k comfortably for low mileage examples. Her husband has just bought a Cayenne so this ended up being offered to them as soon as it came in before being advertised - also it’s got full PPF which was £3.5k!
I think the base model gives by far the biggest bang for your buck in the 911 world but none of them are exactly cheap! 😂
Yeah, they're not cheap, but after driving one I can understand why they are held in such high regards.
After driving the 992 (pretty sure you've driven one) and now a 991.2, would you say the 992 is worth the upgrade cost?
I drove the 992(s) at PEC and it was superb, but never sat in a 991.
Good question…
Probably not (for me). The 992 feels physically bigger and the interior is a big difference in terms of bigger screen and more modern feeling “buttons”, but I couldn’t really tell the difference in driving them but then I’m not an expert.
The cost of the base has gone up again for a 992 by another couple of grand and now seriously considering looking at a used version instead.
I will stick with a base as even new there is a £13k hike to an S for different wheels, quad tips and 60bhp! 😳
You might want to look at a used Carrera S instead if "Nick" in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q31Rb-8Dig4 is right about the S being worth the extra over the base due to Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) being standard. i have checked and the difference does apply to UK cars as well as USA ones

Good video thanks for that. I agree if I’m going used I might look at the S but not sure PTV will make any difference to me personally, apart from resale value - but then you need to spend up front to get only a percentage back later…
I thought what he said about the difference between S and GTS was interesting in the context of the Macan too, it did make me smile 😊

Don't you have to be careful with which engine is in the .1? Guess your mate would know anyway. I love that purple.

I think you'd notice the PTV if you have the rear wheel drive, not so much in the 4 wheel drive.

I think that's a valid issue of the 992, it's a big car now. The fact they went full modern interior is better than the Macan imo, did away with the old style infotainment completely.

I was amazed how quick the 992 (s) was, didn't think you'd need anything quicker but you soon want more power and speed over time. The base 992 is really impressive though, was on a carwow drag race the other week and did really well.

Fingers crossed if you do go down the used route, you can find one in the spec you want.

In the video Nick rules out the 4wd cars as taking away driving pleasure
