Interesting you found that. Reviews I’ve read rate them quite highly, but must admit I’ve not driven one yet.
It was the 400bhp version and quick in a straight line. I think it was the adjustable suspension one as it had yellow calipers?
It wallowed because it’s one of the heaviest EV’s out there (more than a Range Rover according to TG) and it was fidgety over road surface to the point I could feel it through my seat.
Quick, but there are now literally dozens of EV’s out there that are better than this in terms of looks, handling and range…
I think you are right re calipers and therefore it has the Ohlins which are meant to be some of the best dampers
Out there so maybe on the wrong setting!
Maybe? but physics is physics Tracky and those dampers are manual adjustment so not auto damping like many other set ups.
Like I said quick in a straight line but a jarring car - this does seem to be confirmed by the big car mag reviews.
Taycan is fab but sooo expensive, others coming off the line now that will give similar performance but less cash and crucially, realistic >300 mile actual range. In theory this means you should seldom have to charge it anywhere but at home?
EV is interesting and getting better by the month it would seem

Of course and agree
They are manual which is a pain in the arse and I can’t see many people fiddling with them but could make a difference once set up properly!
A neighbour of mine has a Polestar 2. He can just about get to his office in London on a full charge - 120 miles. He has had it since March, He didnt even know he had the Ohlins adjustable dampers, until we were discussing his car last month. "Which button do I press to adjust them?" he asked!!!

Just to work? Or the full round trip?
If only 120 miles, that’s rubbish, and less than half the claimed range.

Cheers,
Checked with him today. 292 miles is the official range. He has never got more than 203 miles though. Worst was with 12 miles remaining after his regular 120 mile fast M4 night time commute run. So he can never do a return trip without recharging.

I do not think that is untypical. On YouTube there is a channel run by an EV enthusiast where his videos illustrate the Polestar 2 does have range issues especially in winter
I placed order for Taycan, but after having demo car overnight I cancelled it.
The car is too large for me and the range is a major limiting factor.
I will wait for next gen battery with double or triple power/weight density. At that point it should be viable to stick it in the Taycan 2-door (SWB), aka. the 911
