The other thing that brassed me off with PCP's was mileage allowance, most of past PCP's were based on 10K/year or 27.4 miles per day and it used to brass me off knowing that if we fancied going to the Lakes twice a month I would have to watch my mileage in other parts of the year. Having said that I never exceeded my allowance
I think excess mileage would only ever come into play if you were just handing it back. Otherwise you would be either part chopping or selling in order to move to next vehicle. Mileage is only relevant on these last two in terms of the cars value at the time of change.
I think that’s right but somebody here may correct…

Im pretty sure that lots of Porsche customers also go down the cash route or am I wrong? Don't get me wrong Ive had several PCP contracts before with BMW and Jag when I knew that a 3 or 4 year PCP would meet my needs and I could give the car back. Im supposing that the OPC makes more money from a finance deal rather than a cash deal but I'm not really sure as the finance is normally provided by a bank or similar.
Then I started thinking does the 'next car possibly being an EV' make a difference into how you should pay for a new Macan S? 3 glasses of red wine isn't helping!!!
PCP deals in the past have helped me use a car for 3 or 4 years that I probably couldn't afford then. Now that can afford to buy a Macan i'm thinking that would be the right thing to do if I intend to keep it until I go EV. Happy to listen to guys/girls with more experience.
In the past, with most makes, there was a good discount and / or "manufacturer's contribution" to largely offset the PCP interest. In my past experience, with BMW and Mercedes, it was cheaper than paying cash. Also those makes suffered 60% ish depreciation over 3 years and 30k miles.

With Porsche there is little or no discount and their finance is usually +6%. So a PCP is very expensive in real terms, even with the good residual values.

I bought my first Macan SD with cash. 3 years later I traded it in to the supplying OPC and got 62% of what I paid for it in p/ex. This was way before the huge hike in 2nd hand prices in 2021 too. They also gave me a £1k "loyalty bonus" when I bought my next Macan, a GTS, again for cash.

I know this post is about 2 years service but wanted to know if the £1695 I’ve been quoted for a 4 year service is a reasonable price.
Last time I paid for a service it was £32.50 for a Morris Marina so quite taken aback.

If you are approaching 40k miles then I guess that price will include

then PDK service ca £500 (PDK due at 6years, or 40k miles) as well as
the major service (a few filters extra over the minor service) ca £650
brake fluid every 2 years so another ca £150
I think the schedule for spark plugs is similar to the PDK (6yrs or 40k miles). . So ca £200 for those

With OPC labour rates of ca £200/hr they soon empty your wallet!

Always worth calling a few OPCs to compare prices.

A Porsche specialist would be about £1100 for all the above

With your mileage it looks like they are only quoting for major service and brake fluid - that should be less than £1k, or £600 at a specialist

My GTS' display is showing it's first oil change is due at the end of March. The car is 2 yrs old on 1 June. So I spoke with my OPC and Service said okay to defer until mid-May and combine with the first serevice.

OPC Swindon quoted for the 2 yr service £683 inc. VAT to include all fluids - oil [+ litre top-up pack], brake fluid change and washer fluid.
Roof drain check £159. Air Con service £63 = extra charges if wanted.

OPC Bournemouth quoted £698 for the 2yr service [without those two extra charges].
