A few years ago Porsche tried to do a reverse takeover, where they tried to buy VW.
That got them into a real financial pickle, and the debt mountain was horrendous. Eventually it never happened.

I don't get the attraction myself - a 25% Free Float through half of the preference shares. An overcomplex share structure in a company with works council representation and the usual complex Board Structures and holdings from the States in which they have economic weight. Looks a scheme designed by Investment Banks for Investment Banks and nobody else!

Plus one and the offered shares are non voting so you take the risks but do not have a say.
