So we've just done a long trip on Mull in the Macan S Gen 3. And have a slow puncture. I'd not be surprised if this is damage from the "with passing places" roads. But just wanted to get any other views as it only seemed to deflate when we got back to the main roads but no signs of malicious behaviour on the dashcams.

We're probably just going to replace the one rear tyre with home fitting as it just has 2k miles on it. Any views on that would be welcomed too. I replaced both tyres on my Merc after an encounter with the roads in Northampton (if you've driven there you'll know) but they had a good 10k on them.

TIA

Sounds sensible.

Yes, no problem with replacing one tyre at such low mileage. It should be the same make and model of tyre and with the same ‘N’ rating.

Replaced one soddin tyre three times with my Macans.

No problem except the cost.

Glad I have a spare but those wheels are damn heavy

That’s some damage. What on earth could have caused that?

Thanks everyone. Will replace the one.

As for the damage. Well maybe Pirelli tyres are not designed to traverse the Isle of Mull? I've found them to be too soft in the past and tyre v mountain....guess mountain won?

It looks like a stab but maybe it was a bit of rock? I don't remember any particularly big impacts.

I've also found Macan v stone chip to be a losing battle 3 times now at @ 60mph. I think its the angle of the screen and the speed and crack!

Agree

If the others are barely worn then just change the one

There is some percentage difference rule somewhere but I doubt that applies here with such low mileage

I had to replace a rear tyre 6k miles into a new set. Checked with the OPC re wear % and no issues. Now after a further 8k miles there's no obvious difference.

The max permissible difference is 30% across one axle.
