So my car will be worthless after about 13-14 years, excluding what I’ve spent on mods etc!

I think proper analysis needs to split out two items, the annual loss on the car and the loss from "retail" to trade on a sale, I think the latter for a three to five-year-old Macan is of the order £7K to £10k and annual loss £4k to 5K

So after 3 years you reckon it's £7k plus 3x£4k =£19k. But it's still only a guesstimate which is why I think the actual experienced loss of owners would be interesting. Or would having to write down the cost make most people cry

Model - Macan S Diesel
Date Bought - 01/22
Price paid OTR - New was £65,388 on original invoice
Cost of options included - Base vehicle £44,636, so £20,752.
Purchased for sub £30k. Car is a 65 plate with 73,000 miles. So just under 6.5 years old. I make it around £5500pa lost.

There has been enough discussion on here of WBAC, Motorway OPC and Cazoo quotes and then subsequent prices of cars being sold retail that I think it is reasonably accurate

Bought new in 2017 for £55,000. Sold last month for £33800. Macan SD with 38,000 miles. Extended warranty to March 22. So lost £21,200 over 58 months =£365/month. It retained 61% of its value at nearly 5 years which is exceptional. I suspect the current climate added about £4000 to its value - so in normal times it would have lost £434/month and retained 54% of its value. Pretty good even with these figures. I haven't included the extended warranty cost. Sold through Motorway

We traded our base Macan for a Cayenne E Hybrid 4 weeks ago
Macan bought new in October 2016 for about £51k and received £30k from the dealer in December 2021. Car had 43k miles on it and did not have any warranty.
21-22k depreciation over 5 years and 43k miles is pretty good in my eyes. Apart from the transfer box being replaced last year under warranty, we had no other issues with the car

Haven't sold mine, but based on Parkers and the usual £7k dealer mark up, I would expect to get £35k for it after 51 months and 28k miles, so that would equate to £705 ppm? Also 49-50% of cost.
