Thanks for that explanation.
We are in the process of possibly buying a new Macan. This will be our last ICE car as I hope hydrogen stations and cars will be
readily available in 6 to 7 years.
I don't want an EV with longterm battery problems and long charging times

From recollection a recent Fifth Gear article included the Mirai, and they stated something like only 12 hydrogen stations in the UK.
Very much chicken n egg; sadly at the moment the UK is struggling to keep pace on electric chargers so hydrogen stations are not on many peoples radar

The infrastructure cost of installing just 2 H2 pumps in say 25% of the existing stations over the next 10 years is far less than upgrading the local electricity grid. The 5000 pumps would have a theoretical throughput of 1.5 million cars per day. The scaling up of more pumps can proceed on demand as petrol and diesel use declines over the next 20 yeats.

Lets also not forget we are switching to EV's where there are (or will be) supply constraints on the Critical Metals needed to sustain the energy switch - pretty much every developed country/region has a list of exactly the same metals and minerals. The mining majors are currently on 'gold rush' style M&A spree buying up whats left (usually deposits that were previously uneconomic) or buying out existing mines/deposits ...
