Isleaiw wrote: Fri Jan 07, 2022 8:28 pm I think you will find that they are losing the £1400 VED in the deal with the £1k saving that you paid. First year VED not refundable on sale, well I didnt get any back when I sold my M5 after 11 months (£2200 VED!)

They want the sale to count as a new car sale and a used car sale. Two points with one vehicle. They wont be able to sell as a pre reg until at least 90 days old, even if you are using it.

I'm pretty sure the bosses at either Porsche UK or the dealership chain wont be happy with the approach, but I guess if you ask for £5k off you will see how keen they are to bend the rules....

Now can we work out from your old posts which OPC it is...?
especially as his OPC is part of Porsche Retail Group owned by Porsche!!! ;) ;) ;) or am I reading to much into that ;) ;) ;)
If that’s the case I’d expect it to be Porsche Guildford as they are dodgy as F***.

You need check carefully when it was/is going to be first registered.
A car registered 1/1/2022 will be worth more than if registered 31/12-2021 when you come to sell it, probably £500 to £1000 more.

Unless you're getting off with the RFL, that isn't enough. If they register it as a 2021 they'd wrench the £1k back off you at trade in time by saying the book price for 21 vs 22 is lower.
They are many things, but they aren't stupid.

Thanks for all the responses! Really helpful, I have just emailed them back basically saying the incentive needs to be much better for me to be interested + I would need confirmation that it would be registered as at 2022 car. From doing some quick research typical savings (ok probably not with Porsche) on a pre-reg car should be between 5-15%, so if they can work to the lower end of that range (being realistic-ish) then we shall see!

Well they have come back with the best they can do, which works out at around 3.3% But I had forgotten they had already given me 1.5% off previously so a total discount on a "new" / "used" Macan of 4.8%. I'm still in two minds, I'm going to call them shortly and I might see if they would chuck in a nice jacket and some other bits to sweeten it lol
